I just found this forum and am desperately hoping that someone can shed some light on some issues my dad is having.  He has had HHT since 1995 (or, that was when he was diagnosed) and has been an insulin dependent diabetic since 1970 (Type 1, no rhyme or reason as to why he came down with diabetes at the age of 25).  He recently was admitted to the hospital when he came down with what was believed to be a viral infection.  He was diagnosed with pneumonia and in running the test for that they found out that he has an atrial fibrillation.  All of this has happened in another state away from his regular doctor.  During an angiogram (sp?) it was discovered that he has heart disease and their recommendation is aspiring therapy and maybe Plavix.  As we have been told for years that any blood thinners are a definite no-no what happens next?  Has anyone in this forum been through this?  I did a search on heart disease and HHT and came up with a discussion on Coumadin which they haven't yet said anything about.  Thanking you in advance.

Though unfortunately it seems my own experiences with HHT are such that I don't know the answer to most questions or have anything to add to most discussions on here (hence why I might not always reply), but it's good to know there are plenty of members here who do and are willing to contribute their thoughts and solutions here.
