HHT and Periods - Women with HHT
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:19:42 AM »
Hi all ladies out there!

I was just wondering if anyone else had their periods affected by HHT or their nose bleeds worse each month just before your period.

I am struggling at present having monthly bad nose bleeds for the week leading up to my period.

Now I have been sent to a gyni clinic so they can look at stopping my periods because no one can stop the nose bleeds.

I have just received an appointment to have an MRI scan of my pelvis, because they will not perform a hystrectomy until they are sure that my uterus is free of telan lesions.

Has anyone else got any experience in this topic?

Tracey  ;)

Sorry Tracey _ I never got the time there to talk about this

Then I wrote you a message and just when I went to post it I hit the wrong button here and deleted the whole lot  ::)

Anyway I meant to say that Ive been told by a connsultant that usually hht patients suffer from one or the other i.e nosebleeds or internal - and not both - though from experience with family I could beg to differ with that one :)

I also have problems with worsening nosebleeds around the time of my period - I was just wondring though have you not been offerrd Homone replacement therapy or Cholesterol tablets - even if otherwise you dont need them , apparently they help with slowing down the telangiacesias from bleeding!!!

Im thinking of asking for the Youngs Procedure - I wasnt too keen but now that my life has become so restricted - I think its a good option :)

Anyway - your Dr is probably just wanting to make sure before performing such a major operation

Sorry for the delay in properly replying lol.x
