Has anyone lost their job because of their HHT?
« on: January 22, 2010, 07:07:51 PM »
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site, just wondering if anyone has lost their job because of their HHT.

I was sacked from a job last August after working at the company for 8 months. The company saw me every day blocking my nose to stop the bleeds so i could carry on working. I requested time off for 2 appointments and was refused, once the company realised that i would be needing frequent time off for appointments and operations, they made accusations that i swore at the manager and sacked me.

I have submitted a appeal to the employment tribunals and have also been in touch with the local C.A.B. They have been very helpful, saying that i don't have a case for unfair dismissal as i was not employed long enough but i will have a case for disability discrimination if i can prove i am actually dissabled.

Does anyone know how much proof i will need?

Does anyone know of anyone in the same kind of situation?

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I have no idea myself, but hopefully some of our other members here will know.

Welcome to the site.

see an employment law solicitor I believe the first interview is free and he will guide you to further your claim also use your union solicitor if you are a member

Sorry to hear about your job. Would you be able to get incapacity allowance?
Good luck Steve.

I lost my job age 19 as I had a bad nosebleed!

My supervisor turned white & looked like he was about to faint!

Officially I was told my work wasn't up to standard, but unofficially it was because he was terrified of the sight of blood!

That was about fifty years ago!

Terry.
