Where would you love to live?
« on: March 22, 2007, 04:27:40 PM »
Are you happy with where you live, or do you have dreams of living far off in a different country?

Personally....

Living:
In the UK

Would love to live:
In Australia

Reason:
Mostly due to the shows I've seen on TV of people moving there, it just seems to be so much better than here, although I honestly have no idea what exactly I'd have to compare it with, but it definitely appears to be a great place to live or at least someday visit.

Hi Matt, with the weather the way it is at the moment I can understand your thoughts drifting to hotter climates ;D,as it has been to me at least a long winter.
Not to keen on your choice of heavenly destination, too hot,for me there by far,not my idea of home, two thirds of the country is uninhabitable as it is so dry and barron.
An Austrialian I once had the priviledge of working with years ago, told me if they built a bridge to oz,you would not get across for for brits coming back.
I for one believe him.
Anyway would never ever contemplate leaving the best country in the world, despite what the pesimists say.
Weather is bound to get better to as global warming creeps in.....''just joking'' Matt.

If I had to make a choice though I would opt for New Zealand, south island.

All the best Matt

I grew up on the mainland of Galveston Island, in Texas. I love the ocean, but my home town it too hot. My mother says they have the Gulf breeze, but that's just a bunch of hot air. I also lived in East Anglia for a bit, in a tiny place named Exning. The people were lovely, and I enjoyed my time there, but I want a larger city. I love Cananda too.  Last summer the cool in Calgary was to die for, and it's not so far from the coast to drive there or so far north that I'd become a popsickle. I like the political climate there too. It's the maple leaf for me. I'm in Kentucky right now, and it has a mild climate and good medical facilities, so the bluegrass might be my winter home. Peace, Charlyn

Well, I currently live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the US. In the summer it's too hot, in the winter it's too cold. I am not complaining, though, probably due to the fact that I've lived here all of my life. You can tell when a person has lived here all their life; they know when a storm is coming, and when it gets here they go outside.  :-X

I can't think of a place I'd like to go, either. I've lived a pretty sheltered life; I've only travelled to Colorado, and then during the fall. So I suppose I'm one of the few that's happy where they are!!

...Well, now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind living for a while in Connecticut. That sounds like a nice place to be. Outside of my own country, I'm not too certain. But if they select the wrong people to run for the presidency, I may wind up in Canada...

Hello everyone!! I have alway's wanted to live by the ocean, any ocean will do! I was born in Maryland but now live in West Virginia. I live with my father right now and we are in the process of selling his house and moving to North Carolina. My sister and brother both live there so we want to be closer in case something happens with my brain AVM and aneurysm. :(

Hi All,

I live in Torquay in Devon (UK) - and I love it here.  Moved away a couple of times for jobs, but all the tea in China wouldn't make me move again.

Hi Tracey, spent some time at Lympstone many many years ago, smashing little place, what I remember the most was the wonderful smell of trees and grass that was so pungent every morning.
I often wonder if it is still as quaint and cosy as I remember it all those years ago.

Home is where the heart is,even if the grass does look greener elsewhere,I would not move from the northeast now for a kings ransome.

P>S.   I to have telan spotting around my eyes and very bad ones on most of my face,so consequently I sport a beard so as not to run the shaving gauntlet each morning and also disguise a fair bit of telan.

I think this topic is great.

I was literally lol reading Matt's post of March 2007.

I live in Australia & was thinking it would be great to live in the UK..... (apart from the family heritage).

One of the "causes" or issues I have is the low humidity - dryness, heat & wind, all "stirrers" to the bleeding (or so I think).  This last fortnight has been really bad for me - Here we've had temperatures of 44 degrees C, and sustained temperatures over 38 degrees for weeks.... Now it's lucky to be above 22 degrees C!

Oh for a nice moist coastal home in a temperate country!!!!!
