Does anyone know............
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:08:17 PM »
Pondering as I do on life and the meaning of all things miserable, just joking............it came to me that the only famous or well known person I have heard of with HHt was 'Catherine Cookson' the authoress, just wondered if anyone knew of a public figure to add to my list of one.

Oh yes and as a follow up to a previous letter of mine 'Eating my Words',about my latest venture into the wonderful world of laser,I can honestly say this last five weeks have been torrent free, still bleeding regular mind but controlable ones not heart stoppers, this respite is most welcome and I am truly grateful for it.

I am nursing myself to try and get some mileage out of it,for as my consultant told me it will return as I well know from previous expeditions.

Be lucky, and happy keep taking the tablets........

Hi everyone!

I was just catching up with all of the old threads as I haven't visited the site for some time.  After reading your messages above, I googled "catherine cookson hht"  and went into the first site on the list.  Below is an extract from it:

The patient described in 1864 was, of course, not the first person to have HHT. Genealogical studies in the Netherlands have shown that there were patients with HHT centuries before. However, we do not know who the first patient in the world was. There have been several famous HHT patients, such as the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, who wrote “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and the English writer Catherine Cookson. There are several well-known patients with HHT living in the Netherlands, but their names have to be kept secret.

..... so there you go, ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON also suffered from HHT!

Does anyone else have anything to add to this thread?
