Nasal infections
« on: February 24, 2008, 08:11:44 PM »
Hi,

Just a quick question that I hope someone out there may have an answer to. My HHT has been helped using colostrum (not stopped but reduced) but for the last 3 years I've been getting recurring infections in my nose that needs antibiotics to clear up. Its not the end of the world but does make me pretty ill until the antibiotics kick in, anyone got similar experiences / suggested hints/tips to keep this sort of thing at bay ?

thanks in advance

steve

sooner or later the bleeds worsen as you get older so why not consider a full nasal closure the bleeds stop completely with no infection, after all ,the nose is closed off . there are some minor consequencesc but they offset the anaemia etc which will increase with the loss of blood .Read through the site to get a little info specially the nosebleed and youngs procedure headline and then decide what the best course of action is for you not forgetting that the Doctors out there know very little about HHT .   glad to help with any questions you may have

regards   Phil

Hi Phil

The idea of full closure sort of worries me, my elder brother has seriously considered it, he does bleed a lot worse than I do. I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced these sorts of problems before and come up with procedures to help keep the infections to a minimum.

anyone out there got ideas ?
